Pro Spot Participates in Education Foundation Event
Chicagoland Speedway opens doors to Industry Students
Chicago, Ill. (Sept. 22, 2015) – Pro Spot International, manufacturers of resistance spot welding equipment for the collision repair industry, participated in the Cars, Careers, and Celebrities Expo at the Chicagoland Speedway in Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 18, 2015. The event was put on by the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
Ron Olsson, president of Pro Spot International, explained Pro Spot is dedicated to the education and futures of young adults who pursue careers in the automotive repair industry.
“We believe it is not only our goal, but an industry goal to get more young people invested in our industry,” he said. “By providing them good education, experience on quality equipment, and job opportunities, they are set with the tools they need to hit the ground running in their career.”
Pro Spot has been working with CREF for many years in an effort to get quality welding equipment to school programs that may not be able to afford it in their budget, he said.
“We met many enthusiastic students from 10 different states,” explained Ashley Olsson, Communication Director for Pro Spot International. “Pro Spot displayed their i5 Smart Spot Welder, SP-5 Smart MIG for Aluminum, Silicon Bronze, and Steel, as well as the Weld Simulator.”
One such student, Jay Tealenoochi, said he uses Pro Spot on a daily basis and was excited to be a part of this event.
Pro Spot International’s next event will the SEMA Show in Las Vegas from Nov. 3 to 6. Pro Spot will be conducting product demonstrations and discussions in SEMA booth #10839 throughout the Expo.
In 2008, the Collision Repair Education Foundation transformed itself into a traditional philanthropic organization, partnering with industry donors to fill the funding gap that hinders the collision industry. In their first year, they provided more than $1.7 million in grants for collision education. The Education Foundation is committed to continuing to award substantial annual support, both to students and to collision training programs.
The SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It draws the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products to one place, the Las Vegas Convention Center.
